I had been looking for unusual furniture in all the right places and found a beautiful desk begging to be loved.

I loaded it in to the back of my CX-5 and brought it home. Such a beautiful piece of furniture just begging to be be restyled and useful.
This is my first project using Fusion Mineral Paint. I knew that Fusion Mineral Paint would be beautiful on an un-sanded piece but I wanted to see what was under the finish. I sanded the desk and prepped it for its new look.
I work on the furniture I upcycle when I have time and have a burst of creative energy. Sometimes a lot of time goes between stages. The next time I worked on this desk it was winter and I did what many do and painted in the kitchen.

I decided that elegance was the theme for this desk so I decided to give it a little black dress using Fusion Mineral Paint Ash.
As beautiful as it looked it was calling out for more. So I painted the side panels and added unexpected stripes in Fusion Mineral Paint Soap Stone.

The drawers and legs followed the theme. I painted the medallion accents, top drawers and front legs in Soap Stone and the bottom drawers and back legs in Ash. I tried cleaning up the drawer pulls but in the end I painted them silver.
I used Fusion Mineral Tough Coat Gloss to finish off the work.
The plan is to sell this piece so the next step is staging. I am happy with how it is staged but the photography is something I need to get better at. I attempted 2 photo shoots.
First Attempt
Second Attempt
In the end I went through a lot of learning with this first piece. I have done a few more since this was completed and can't wait to continue.
